Sheba Walker is a 2 1/2 year old AKC certified Bernese Mountain Dog.  She has been raised her whole life as a indoor family dog.  She has a great temperament and personality which helps her get along good with our two children which are 21 months and 3 months old.  She does a good job of guarding our house by barking anytime someone comes to the door.  She also is able to sense if the person is a threat or not and warms up quickly to friends and family.  We chose to have her PennHIP certified instead of OFA certified because research has shown it to be superior in detecting potential problems in a dogs hips and elbows.  The results come back as a percentile of how they compare to the breed as a whole.  55 percentile or better is equivalent to OFA standard of excellent.  Sheba came back with a 60 percentile.  The puppies stud (Ben) came back with an amazing 90 percentile.  We also had the vet check Sheba's elbows, eyes and heart.  We want to make sure Sheba exceeds her breeds life span and that her puppies do as well.
